Guitar Bypass Ring Rocking Out in Bronze for Musical Inspiration
While age old arguments like Strat vs Les or Finger Picking vs Bottle Slide are unlikely to be solved anytime soon, one thing is for sure, this bronze guitar bypass ring absolutely rocks out with style and musical inspiration.
The guitar shape was lightly drawn with a pencil on a sheet of 20 gauge commercial bronze and then cut out using a fine blade attached to a frame saw. All sharp edges were filed smooth and details such as strings and frets engraved into the bronze to complete the basic design. The guitar is then place diagonally over a steel ring mandrel and shaped into a perfectly round bypass ring by tapping and pound with a non-marring nylon mallet. For a little extra detail, a pewter black patina was applied to the engraved grooves for maximum contrast against the bright golden glow of freshly polished bronze.
Shown here in a ring size 7, the guitar measures about 2.5 inches in length and can be adjusted up or down a full ring size. Bronze is an alloy that includes about 90% copper as such bronze will age much like a copper penny or copper jewelry. We like the appearance of aged and antique bronze, so our practice is not apply coatings or sealants to the metal, however you can also request a wax coating to drastically reduce tarnishing and discolouring.
This ring can also be ordered with personalized stamping and engravings by entering your requests in the check out notes. Custom orders and requests are always welcome. Please don’t hesitate to contact us or call any time with questions. Thanks.. Nici
